The Passive Line
Three ways to stop a vehicle without a machine.
Cable barrier for long runs, bollards for point protection, and a portable device where nothing can go in the ground. Each carries a crash rating from a full-scale test, not an engineering analysis.
AVBD 300 SeriesAnti-Ram Bollards
Standard and crash-rated bollards for perimeter protection, pedestrian safety and traffic control.
AVBD 700 SeriesModular Portable Protective Device
Crash-rated portable perimeter protection with no excavation or below-ground anchors.
AVBD 100 SeriesPassive Cable Barrier
Crash-rated protection with no power, moving parts, or routine mechanical maintenance.
Compare the range
Passive barriers at a glance.
Every rating shown traces to a full-scale crash test report and, where applicable, a listing on the DoD Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier List. Foundation and civil scope are engineered per project and per site conditions.
Passive by Design
Why it matters.
Nothing to power
At full rating during a blackout
No hydraulics, no controller, no generator, no standby circuit. The barrier holds its rating during a site-wide power loss — the moment a perimeter is most exposed.
No service contract
No seals, no actuator, no annual rebuild. Inspect the cables, posts and fittings, check cable sag and clamp torque — that is the entire schedule.
Below the sightline
Two cable lines below eye level. Where a bollard field or barrier wall dominates an approach, a cable barrier holds the same rating and effectively disappears.
